I was thrilled to receive a demand from my mortgage company yesterday for a few hundred extra for my escrow. It seems my local government decided that something as silly as a 30% drop in value could not possibly be followed by a 30% drop in my taxes so, they compensated by jacking up the tax bills!

What's not to love about government?

Thats just great. Now all we need is Obama's Cap and Tax plan for our utilities to "neccesarily skyrocket" as Obama put it, on top of the state and local taxes that are spiraling upward.

Added to that, the obamacare taxes that will kick in at the first of the year.

We are well on our way to becoming an Eastern European socialistic state.

Also, look forward for the Obama adminstration to entertain implementing a VAT tax in the coming year.

Here's what Founder John Marshall thought about Obama's cure for everything;

"The power to tax is the power to destroy." - John Marshall (1819) Founder, Constitutional law and Supreme Court Justice.

Gee, it seems John Marshall must have been one of those evil, right-wing conservative Tea Party types.

After Boehner shafted Conservatives by compromising on the debt ceiling, giving Obama 2 trillion in extra spending..

..well, a picture speaks a thousand words.

Gotta stop swingin' Left & Right to consider compromise and the more Centrist values most of us share.  Unless the option isn't available, it's 3P* for me.

*Third Party - not Tea Party!

Moderation (centrism) is our curse. Instead of doing great things, we 'compromise' and in so doing water down all ideas  (good or bad) to the point they are more a problem than anything good...that leaves us with only 'trends'...a series of of similar bills pushing us in a general direction.

That is what we do we shamble and stagger in one political direction without ever resolving anything, leaving a vast bit of the country behind...all in the goal of 'moderation'.

Has anythng really great we have done ever been done by moderates? SS or Medicare? Bringing down the Soviet Empire or the Nazi's?

Far better is it to dare mighty things, to win glorious triumphs, even though checkered by failure, than to rank with those poor spirits who neither enjoy much nor suffer much because they live in that grey twilight that knows neither victory nor defeat – Teddy Roosevelt

What we need is one philosophy or the other, America or Socialist Europe, to prevail.

Are you quoting Obama?  Because it sure sounds like something he would say.    We really don't need great things.  We just need fiscal responsibility, strong national defense, and social progression.  The only voters in the position to serve as an arbitrator in today's political bottleneck are the centrists.  Any movement is impossible to describe satisfactorily and that would include, "pushing us in a general direction." Tortoise and the Hare.  One thing that is constant is that one cannot catch the other because the other is always in a state of constant movement.  Thus, two extremists will never win over the other.  This is partially why the Tea Party Movement has been successful.  The Tea Party movement has been the tortoise for a very long time before it had a name.  The Tea Party Movement is not a Republican tactic.  They are too stupid to even realize that the Tea Party will vote them out of office as well.  The Democrats are too stupid to realize that the Tea Party Movement is an insurgency.  You know how I know this?  The Democrats are not aiding and abating the Tea Party Movement.  So, it is the tortoises out there that will eventually solve this stalemate.  We just have to be patient and stop acting like a bunch of jack rabbits.
