Marantz SA11S2 vs. Ayre CX-7e vs. APL Hi-Fi Mods on Marantz DV9500

Hi all,

I have a Marantz DV9500 universal, and was considering the following options to further upgrade the sound of my digital source: purchase the new Marantz SA11S2, the Ayre CX-7e, or mod the DV9500 with the able assistance of APL Hi-Fi.

I hear great things about all three options, but don't have the opportunity to compare them in advance. For reference, I'll have a Cayin A-88T tube amp and Dali Helicon 400 speakers - I have 95% CDs, with a handful of SACDs and DVD-As.

Any experiences with these players/mods, or any thoughts?

All three are terrific choices!

I know Alex's work and when you listed APL Hi Fi as an option, it made me want that.

You can't lose. Can you go audition at APL?
