Marantz SA-14

Hello Friends,

I have recently bought a Marantz SA-14 (along with the tuner ST-17). It has been a Demo unit in the shop and the retail price was 4000$. I got it for 1500$. It is very good sounding CD and SACD player.

There is only one thing. The seller told me this unit is 5 years old. I just need some verification. Can anybody here confirm this?

And what is the class of this unit? It seems to be exceptionally well-built and one of the most beautiful players I have ever seen. It sounds as good to me.

Any info is greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

In the following links you can see some pics of the unit:

The Marantz SA-14 technology is more like 10 years old.

As a demo for $1500 you probably got a pretty good deal.

Hello Again,
Thanks for the respons.

I have recently found out that mine is Marantz SA-14, Ver. 2. I was wondering, this "Ver. 2" means it might be a newier edition than that of 10 years ago?!... If the seller is right that this unit is only five years old, the technology must be newier that 10 years ago. I am just curious.

The Marantz SA-14 Ver. 2 was available in 2002.

So, the technology employed in that unit is 10 years old. The unit might have been new 5 years ago.
