Man, is Vegas a great city, or what?

We took my youngest out for dinner for his thirteenth birthday. On the way home, we drove into a sobriety-check road block. I pulled up to the officer and he flashed his light into the car to see my wife and two kids, shined the light in my eyes, and said, "Have anything to drink tonight?"

I said, "No, thank you."

He said, "What?"

I said, "No, but thanks."

He said, "Have a nice night," and waved us through.

I have never been to Vegas. Gambling does not interest me much, I am too cheap for it! My favorite cop stop story involves my racist cousin. He voted for klansman David Dukes. Really. I have never heard him use a non-offensive term to refer to a non-white eprson. Never.

So we have been drinking and partying down in New Orleans, and he gets pulled over by a black cop. I never heard so many "sirs" and "officer"s in my life. I was dying laughing in the back seat! The cop asked what was making me so happy and I told him it was a long story but that I was drunk and my cousin driving my drunk ass home.

The officer laughed and sent us on our way. That was a great cop stop!

Re: Man, is Vegas a great city, or what?

A family friend is a personal trainer in Las Vegas and a customer asked if she could teach her to do the splits.

The friend replied, "Well, how flexible are you?"

The lady replied, "I can't come in on Tuesdays or Thursdays."

_____

On a sad note, we had a friend drown in Lake Mead two weeks ago.

Our group of friends chipped in and sent a life preserver covered in flowers for the funeral.

It's what he would have wanted.
