Maggies in a Small Room

Hi All,
I have the 1.7 Maggies and am required to move my rig to a smaller room -- 11 feet wide.
Actually, one side is open and the other is a wall. (The room is over 20 feet deep.)
Question is, should I sell the Maggies and get a more conventional speaker, or will the Maggies be ok with just about 5 feet separating them?
Thanks for helping me think this through.
Best
S

Do not be French...

....and throw up the white flag just yet.

Experiment with placement.
The further from the back wall the better with Maggies, in my limited experience.
If you have 'permission' to work with positioning, you may find an arrangement that works quite well.

White flag

I can remember when Italians were the object of that joke... I think I will experiment on the basis of the hk/limage set up. Ever hear of it? It's supposed to be the thing for planars in a confined space. I'd be interested in your view if you have one on thus.
Thx S
