Great albums. What a reminder of those glorious yesteryears, as the tv host would say.
Live At Leeds was the ass kicking hard rock anthem that pretty much defined the way we saw ourselves (or wish we could be) at the time. I was a senior in high school. The Who were Gods, along with The Holy Trinity and Frank Zappa. (I was Catholic.) The deluxe version also includes Tommy, which is very cool to hear live.
I'm listening to Teenager Of The Year by Frank Black. Heavy rotation lately.
Went thru Jack Johnson
The Lost Chords find Paolo Fresu - Carla Bley
Tommy - The Who Mofi
Live in Concert at Carnegie Hall - Harry Belafonte 2cd german release no edits
I have the double LP edition of Live in Concert at Carnegie Hall with Belafonte. Amazing sound from 1959. I wonder if the CD is as good. Have you heard the LP's?

I have them also, but all my vinyl is in storage,as well as the TT's.
This is one of the few lp's that my Dad would play that didn't irritate the heck out of me. I have 3 diff cd's, the one mentioned an RCA domestic release which is a single disc so its edited, an an SACD import. The worst sonics are the SACD which is a disappointment, the other 2 are good, but each is a little diff. Some have a sonic preference but IMHO they are pretty close sonically and not bad at all, just mixed diff, not unlike how AIX has stage vs audience mixes. This is why I wish SONY would allow a label like [FIM] to do an audioplile version. They blew it with the SACD release, IMHO of course.
Son of Skip James - Dion
Saffronia - Lyambiko
New England/Front Page News - Wishbone Ash
Donald "The Man" Fagen - Morph the Cat, 2006

I love that record! The bass is an experience in itself, how does it sound on your Andra's?

For sure bro. Keld. I totally dig this album. Alot of choice tunes on it. Still listening through the JBL's currently. Waiting on payday so I can get my biwire cables to hook'em up. Found a pair of double barrel Zens and I hope the guy will hold them for me till then.
The Eggs are begging to be fed some serious clean power in my estimation.
I hope to have my ML 336 back sooner rather than later. Until then the Adcom will suffice. Its a great amp too and I have never had one problem with it over the years, except for a on/off switch that went bad. easy fix.

Well my OCD kicked into high gear as I wait
I bought some Murphy's oil soap and a gallon of distilled water to clean the piano black finish, now they look like a wet bar of soap. No swirls.
I did the Caig Pro Gold treatments on the binding posts, borrowed a friends polisher to polish the granite sides with a granite polishing compound (that crap is expensive!). I did not like the dull black screw-in spikes, so I took them to a plating company here in town to have them chrome plated so as to have a more appealing aesthetic contrast against the gloss black finish. I like the way Tidal loudspeakers (Germany) look so, thats why I did it. So, my obsessive/compulsive behavior does have its advantages I guess

Don't get me contemplating Jim, you know those doorknobs have alot of bacteria on them
That's why I keep spending my money as fast as I can. They carry bunches of bacteria too

Same, still disappointed that she dropped out of the AIX project a few years ago!!

A magnificent recording recorded at Horowotz' residence in 1986, '88, '89. Super quiet Deutsche Grammophon recording with well over 30db of dynamic swings. Mozart, Schubert, and Liszt on the card. Since I listen to a real Steinway B once a week this is a great, very accurate recording.
I should add that I had a chance to play Maestro Horowitz' piano after his passing as it made its way around to various Steinway dealers. That was a once in a lifetime experience. The touch of his model D was very light and probably only mastered by someone who never made a mistake. Suiting him to a T.
My 2-$4.00 SACDs came today. In MC WOW!!!!!!!! It sure sound "real" to me. Thanks, DR. Kal

Next up, disc 2 SACD in MC:

Amazing what $8 buys these days!
Quote:
this looks amazing. I remember listening to Horowitz in the car with my mom. an excellent introduction to solo piano.
