I merely brought out teh fact that Led Zeppelin is grossly over rated, they pulled off a great rip on other peoples stuff...it's hardly spam, it's a fact, they made MILLION$ off of other people$ work$....they finally decided to credit the original song writers after they sure had a great run off it. That's why BMI has song copyrights etc. I/m sure if you wrote a tune, and it was say used in some commercial, that sold lotsa products, and you didn't give the OK to use it, you would want your fair share. It's intellectual property, just like computer software and stuff. You didn't answer teh question, as Jan V. likes to say, what are teh credits on this newer grts hits release on teh songs, does it still say Page etc, or is credit now given to teh writers.....rember the band wouldn't exist if they couldn't use originals by someone else as their foundation. Listen to Little Richard, and so many otehr's that started stuff and got hosed. At least Elvis records had the correct names on the writers of anything he did. Patents and copyrights mean something still in this country don't they? This ain't China, yet. Big stars even sue over using the "likeness" of them in some item that ain't PAID for..go sell a Led Zeppelin T shirt at a concert without it being authorized, watch how many you can sell before they confiscate it all. Influence is fine, giving credit to the influence is the issue, not that music is always influenced from previous ideas. Elvis was influenced by it all Gospel, rock a billy, country, everything, he acknoledged it, not making million$ as if he created it....his first hit Hound Dog was Big Mama Thorton.
