KEF iQ9

I see that Audio Advisor has the KEF iQ9 speakers marked down from $1300 to $800. They look like they might be the speakers I want to use with my 60" Sony TV system (my 'baby' stereo system), but I have a question.

I see from the KEF website that they have been superseded by the model iq90, and I am curious what the change to the new model involves. I see no difference in the ratings, specifications, or appearance.

Does anyone know specifically what the changes to the new model were?

Yes

The new iQ (iQ90)Series have remapped crossovers, and new Dual Composite Cone material and labrinth internal damping. The tweeter gets the Tangerine waveguide. BTW I got this from an article in Hi-Fi World Decembers edition.

Thanks for the information; I am not sure all of the things you mention are changes from the iQ9, but perhaps they are.

In any case, I went ahead and bought them and they seem to do the job nicely. Thanks again.

Hi,

You are welcome to the imformation, and I have no reason to doubt Hi-Fi World would misrepresent the changes to the new models range. I quoted directly from an article from the magazine I had on my desk when I wrote the reply.

I hope you enjoy your purchase.
