WHY was the original thread locked?!
(great report- thanks for the link)
It hadn't been posted to for several days, and I'd like the topic to start fresh here.
This makes no sense:
So how could the demo have been convincing if Jason couldn't hear the system with and without the tweaks?

Bring back DUP
Exactly. You stole the words out of my mouth :-)
But , hey, drink the koolaid , spend the money and give credence to less than rigorous listening sessions, after all, that's the audiophile way.
IMO etc.
I read this quote as pertaining only to the Tesla PowerCel not the ART system:
Full quote:
And this earlier statement from the same post would appear to support this reading:
"In the course of various positionings, removals, and repositionings, I heard the components of the ART system focus and tighten percussion, render a soundstage considerably more three-dimension, clarify a musical presentation rather than leaving it muddy, and considerably tighten and control bass."
I think this statement indicates his perception of the changes were obvious and distinct.
Doesn't mean you or Ethan need to believe him or demand the Imprimatur of Quasi-Scientic Absolute Knowledge and Certainty be annointed on this or any product you suspect.
As far as "irresponsible"- really?? Are we talking social injustice or quack medicine here? Are cash-strapped audiophiles spending the kids' lunch money on these tweaks?
Tweaks are fun and experimental devices. I presume there aren't too many audio bugs draining their family's coffers on things they can't afford- and, if so, I'd be willing to counsel them for several hundred dollars per session.
I prefer really cheap tweaks, if at all, but I don't resent others' tastes in these matters. It's not a matter of life and death.
That Jason heard the system with and without the tweaks seems obvious from his sentence:
Did you miss that, or did you choose to ignore it?
I chose to ignore it.
No, seriously, I took that one sentence at face value.
I'll be most interested in seeing es347's comments.

Here we go again...
LOL, well, Stephen did say "I'd like the topic to start fresh here."
So there you have it.

I think that's called the Misreado Effect.
