At $30k to $35k *each* I don't think to many live performance venues will be using these particular JBL's.
But just imagine the sound if someone did!
Actually checkout what a flying stack of EAW JBL Vertecs QSC, Martin Audio L-Acoustics Meyer Sound, Electro-Voice (now owned by BOSCH!!!) or some of the other pro stuff goes for. SLS ain't cheap either. So much great stuff, making it happen. The JBL's are CHEAP compared to some of teh other stuff at teh show, with such absurd prices, with no performance, namely....a $100K TT !!! Yeah, that's some product!!!! Put that kind of money into so REAL stuff like a pair of Helix from Legacy or some JBL stuff, will give you something to impress and sound REAL...the TT was a 2nd year disappointment, no TT is worth no price like that. Audi RS4 has lotsa precise bearings, fit and finish, enviormental controls, AUDIO system....for much less, and it even uses more material than a TT which is a platter on a spindlw with a MOTOR 1 motor, Audi RS4 has dozens of electric motors!!! Besides the big one up front with 420HP!!! Audiophile land is so full of absuritys...at least teh pro stuff has specs, tech specs that it must meet, reliability!!! etc etc. Yeah, how bout a 3 watt 10K useless amp..oh, but it sounds so wonderful, impossible, cus' it sure ain't sounding like a live show, impossible, maybe JBL will get back into selling high end to consumers, and wipe out a dozen or so high end marketeers, with crap, at high prices, when "audiophiles" see what money can buy from real audio companies, with real performance....Harman Internatioanl is loaded up with lotsa great brands to make teh music, and reproduce it
I love John Meyer's speakers (not to mention SIM). SLS is great, too. And yes, a flying stack is very pricy - but at least you get more than one speaker.
It would be great to see JBL back in the home market. They have the expertise to do a great job.
