Is it possible to run downloaded music thru the Oppo dac from an ipad and if so what cable/s would I need? There are a lot of ifs and mights and coulds in the manual but I think someone on this forum will have a definitive answer.

First you have to get a digital signal out of the iPad.

yes that is a given. the ipad belongs to a friend the oppo is mine. need a more specific answer from maybe someone that has attempted/completed this task.
