It completely depends on the design--the bottom line is you need to listen.

Yes, even if they are from the same manufacturer. Just the interconnect alone between the pre/power alone will make them sound different.

I think that depends entirely on who is listening. Sometimes I wonder about people claiming power wires and speaker cables make huge differences in the sound... I wonder if I'd actually be able to hear what they're talking about...
