I HATE Turntables !!!

First, you have to find the music you want on vinyl.
Then, you have to keep the records in pristine condition.
Then, you have to go to the turnateble to change sides ( no remote control)
need i continue ?

Anyway,as i said,i hate turntable BUT can't live without one !

Actually i have 2 lol A kenwood(Trio)L-07D and a SME 20.2
Untill someone produces a format that will sound at least as-good-as-a- turntable,i'll stick with vinyl...unfortunately !

Re: I love Turntables !!!

Cleanings not to bad ,You can find records for cheap I buy cool ones for $.50-1. Music thats not available on CD or if available its out of print.I enjoy the sound better than my CD players. And my girl friend will pick through piles of LPs she just loves it.Just this week we picked up 60 lps most in good order some in great condition a few shot to heck.Think we spent arround $35 for the lot.Cant beat that.

Very Funny!!!!!
With an SME 20.2...we all should be so lucky.
I have resisted as long as I could but I do know this year I will buy a record vacuum cleaing system. I should have owned one for 20 years, but kept Diswashing them..UG. Old habits die hard. I think it is all the trouble that keeps us hooked to a degree. Anyone can just push play and get good sound these days. Vinyl will always be a magical experience worth the effort.

Re: I HATE Turntables !!! ( Faz , Kloss and Jim)

Hi guys
Faz,what can say i ? I totally agree with you.
Klos, no such luck over here.I am from Cyprus.By the time i order lps from the states, the transportation fees + 10% import duty + 15% v.a.t. will make a $1 lp go to $15 lol
Jim. you should get one ! Not only makes cleaning much easier but the sound is improved ! I own a vpi 17f and i am quite happy with it. if you think it is too expensive, the smaller one, model 16 , is equally good, although you'll have to apply the cleaning liquid manually.
Thanks guys !

You are in for a fantastic surprise

The difference to a before cleaning and after the Nitty Gritty cleaning is huge. Easily the most overlooked (and rationalized postponed purchase!) out there in vinylland. Surely a better cartridge and table make big differences, but the vacuum record cleaner is just as big an improvement. I use mine only once in a while and records do not need cleaning before each play. It gets them so clean that all they need for many plays thereafter are a sweep with a carbon fiber brush or another clean hand-held brush like the classic DiscWasher.

Re: You are in for a fantastic surprise

Sure, LP cleaning and care is sort of a drag compared to simply pop in a (SA)CD, but once you get hooked on vinyl (and begin scouring thirft stores) it becomes one of those habits you quickly depend on. A neccesary evil if you will. I use Record Research Lab solutions with my homemade VPI-like record cleaning machine and the sonic difference it makes is worth all the hassle.

Vinyl forevah!!!
