at various vendors? What brands and models can you listen to? Maybe stores in Monterrey?
My problem is how to know some new speakers will sound with my current amp.
In relation to stores available, I travel often to USA (Houston, San Antonio) so, yes, I plan to listen to other speakers, but again, how will they sound with my current amp?
it should not sound significantly different from another amplifier doing what it is supposed to do. Loudspeakers have a much more influence on sound than the amplifier. Get speakers that sound good to you and figure out amplification later.
I'd go to Timbre in Houston (call for an appointment 713-523-0494) to listen to Vandersteen 2CE SIgnature IIs, and Sound World in Houston (713-778-9120) and Innovations in Home Theater in San Antonio (210-490-8088) to listen to Magnepan 1.7s.
Check out Galen Carol, in San Antonio TX.
