How good is the Marantz 3800 preamp?

I owned both the Dynaco, which I built, and the "38". The Marantz was better to my ear, but not what the Citation was. They made some great gear, much still in service today. It has withstood the test of time. Enjoy.
I have never heard the Citation 11, but the Marantz 3800, as the 3600, is a very good preamp that I still use nowadays.
I consider it much better than many preamps that came after it, and even today it is one of my preferrable vintage preamps, surpassing McIntosh C-24, C-28, Nad 1020, Fisher, and a few others.
