NAD PP4.
PS Audion NuWave Phono.
Parasound ZPhono.
All are fairly well reviewed. Based on my experience (limited but positive) I'd recommend the NAD.
Some good suggestions. I like the look of the NAD. Given that I'm thinking of getting the Pro-Ject Debut Carbon turntable, perhaps the Pro-Ject Phono Box USB V would also do the job?
I'm also keen to get a better informed opinion than my own as to whether connecting a phono pre-amp into the RCA inputs of the M-PWR whilst the M-DAC is still connected to the XLR inputs of the M-PWR is possible and/or advisable?
Had a more detailed look at some of the suggested options, like the NAD PP4, and unless I've misunderstood, it won't work in my system. The gain control on the front seems like it's only for the USB output and not the analogue output, so I can't feed it directly into a power amp because I won't have a volume control??
Using your preamp for it's purpose. In this case you have a very good digital preamp and I would use it. At that level I'd say it will be nearly transparent to pure analog.
