generally a case prevents an iPod from fitting well in many/most docks.
Ditch the case and get the Wadia 170i. I run my iPod Classic 160G through a Wadia into my Playback Designs MPS-5 DAC with stunningly good results.
No case will fit any dock, but you might be able to get a short 30-pin jumper cable somewhere.
