H.E.O.L.O. Speakers...just AMAZING!

Hi all,
I would like to share with the Community my extreme satisfation for my new recently acquired speakers. This is in short the story:

Surfing the net trying to find some good product to replace my speakers, I luckily found a web site where a bunch of quite experienced guys recently joint their effort to build innovative speakers. Their Web Site is: www.heolospeakers.com. Attracted by the description and the listening impressions reported on the site, and also because they are based in the same region I live (Rome, Italy), I decided to contact them. I have to say that they were really available, answering my several questions (I am a real pain in that!!) giving me an extensive explanation about their interesting theory...and most important...they gave me the possibility to go to their showroom and hear them!! So this is the first thing I did. Well, from that point on, I could not stand without, so I decided to buy a pair of "H.e.o.l.o." They have a special offer where they bundle a set of hi-performance cables with the speakers, so I decided to go for that. And now, let me tell you my impressions.

I have tried so many speakers in my life, and I have also built myself so many of them that I could not recall, but these are...AMAZING! The most impressive thing ...is that it is impossible to locate the source of sound in the room! There is no actual need to be in front of the speakers...you can walk around...and you feel completely "immersed" in the sound, while the frequency response seems to be always the same! No fading of hi frequencies when you move around, no changes when you stand up! I don't know how they managed to reach that result, but the definition of the instruments is also incredible. I could hear details that I have never noticed before in my records. The low frequencies are also impressive. I think I will get rid of my subwoofer quite soon!

I don't want to bother you with a very extensive post, but feel free to ask questions if you whish. I am so excited about these "H.e.o.l.o." and I really want to share my experience with you all.

Actually your feeling is wrong. I am just sharing my experience, I am not "spamming" at all!

Could you clarify your reply? Thanks.

Yes of course. The price depends on the configurations. The one I bought are the "Heolo G Sinergy" , the biggest version with cables included, which have a price of 3.400 Eur VAT included. Without cable the price is 3.000 Eur. Also a smaller version exist, called "Heolo P". If I am not wrong the prices of these should be 2.400 Eur for the Sinergy and around 2.000 Eur without cables. I suggest you to send them an email asking for the price list.

The OP is posting essentially the same text to other forums today. The speaker company would likely see its product travel further than Italy when they decide to offer other languages on their site, and provide information on distributors, price, etc.

I am sorry but what you are insinuating about my post is not true. I have posted the same comment to another (1) forum, that is true, but I have nothing to do with the company that is building the speakers. For sure I have a very good esteem of these guys and if my experience will contribute to spread their good work, that is more than welcome and I don't find anything wrong in it.

Shall we talk about the subject of my post instead? ;-)

That's fine. I think that based on your initial post, we though that you were somehow associated with the speaker company and were doing a promo, rather than offering an honest opinion.

Iam not insinuating anything. But, the OP must understand that his post here (and in this Raves section) is entirely devoted to singing the praises of a pair of speakers unknown to most of us, I would guess.

I AM giving a comment on their www site. If the company plans to make a serious impression in an audio market crowded with competing speakers product, they must make some significant changes to their primary "presence". If they have no plans to enter the North American market, and grab the attention of hobbyists here, then they can sit back and do nothing.

I don't really care one way or the other.

Itsoundsbetter, you say that, when you listen to the H.E.O.L.O. speakers, "...it is impossible to locate the source of the sound in the room..."

And this is a good thing?

When I go to a live concert, I know exactly where the "the sound in the room" is.

Do you go to live concerts? Do you like what you hear at these events?

You say we "should feel free to ask questions..."

Yeah. I'll bet. Sorry. I have no questions -- I've heard enough.

Still, music enjoyment is about what turns the individual listener on.

I'm glad you're glad. Enjoy your sourceless music.

Your handle, however, gives your rhetorical purpose away. In fact, nothing sounds "better" than anything else, unless you do some serious qualifying.

Congratulations. Groove on.

HI!

Actually I did not expect so many criticism to my post, that was quite "pacific" ... never mind!

I respect your point of view, but let me answer your interesting comment about the "music source". Yes, I like to go to live concerts and I understand that reproducing the audio scene that a live experience is giving ...in my living room, well is not so easy. I recall the famous and quite old "direct-reflecting" technology from Bose engineers (that I think is still actual), whose purpose was to reproduce in the limited space of a house room the several reflections that are happening in a live concert (floor, ceiling, walls...), and that is not my theory.

Also, there is something to say about the "instrument sound source". I am not an expert in acoustic, but my view is that, when a music instrument is reproducing a sound, it propagates the sound waves in any direction, and not in a single front, as it happens in a front-mounted speaker. Well, what I was trying to explain in my original post (and sorry to everyone for my very basic English) is that in my speakers I found this peculiarity that I could not find in others.

I think the best would be to listen to them, but I have no idea if there is anyone distributing them outside of Italy, maybe not.

Cheers!

Hello,

I have no idea about the commercial plans of this company outside Italy, and I don't actually care about it. I hope that my post, originally intended to just give my own impressions, will generate a misunderstanding instead. Maybe I put too much emphasis in the title of my post? Sorry for that.

With reference to your comment about the North American Market...well this is Internet, and even if I am sitting in Italy I am an happy "digital" Stereophile reader, and I have also bought speakers and components from the U.S. that nobody knows down here... I see this Forum as an International place where to talk about these matters, don't you?

Cheers.

Boy, you guys are a tough, suspicious crowd, I was disappointed in the majority replies to the OP responding to this post. Is all anyone does here on these forum is argue with everyone? I am ashamed of most of your replies. This is a new member to our forums. Be polite and considerate and welcome him instead of being rude and discourteous. Give OP a break, he's discovered a new product that he's excited about and wanted to share it with us.

Just because you've never heard of this manufacturer, doesn't mean that we can't discuss the speaker and it's design. Moreover, so what if he posted about it in *one* other forum? I cross-post to other forums discussing similar subjects all the time.

Also, be courteous and try to understand that there might be language differences to consider; the OP is Italian, English is not his first language. He doesn't mean you can't locate the source, he's trying to describe that this is an design that functions much like the very-well reviewed MBL speakers, with their Radialstrahler drivers, which have an exceptional, open, three-dimensional imaging and soundstaging capability that gives the same impression that one gets a live performance. He's trying to convey that the imaging is much better than the 2-D soundstaging with some a bit of depth that one gets only when sitting or listening directly between the center of conventionally designed speakers. Try to open your minds instead of being so suspicious of the OP's intent and his comments. He's a nice guy, give him a break and welcome him to the forum. Sheesh.

Itsoundsbetter, welcome to the forum. Don't let a bunch of insconsiderate behavior put you off.

Hi Stephen!

Thanks a lot for your warm welcome and the help you gave in clarifying a bit better than my awful English my post. No problem at all from my side, I will for sure continue in discussing in this fantastic forum! My Regards to you and to all the people here!! ;-)

An update about my speakers...

Hello everybody!
I have recently improved my system with a new amplifier and a new preamplifier. I have substituted my NAD 2200 and a DYI preamplifier that I bought from a friend of mine few years ago. Actually I have chosen some equipment from the same brand, since I have received quite a good consultancy after my initial purchase. Now my H.E.O.L.O. are powered by a pair of M.U.SI.C.A. amplifiers in bi-amping configuration while my Sony Sacd is connected to a TU.LI.P. preamplifier, which has an interesting solid state circuit that is capable to reproduce the same harmonic spectrum and audio characteristics of a tube preamplifier, without all the side effects that such technology brings. I have tried to steal some information about the preamp design, but the guys are quite jelous about their solutions.. :-(
Well...the result is really...audible! I mean, there is a REAL audible difference, something that I have rarely perceived using other mix of amplifiers and preamplifiers. I have to admit that I was not confident about bi-amping, but at the end I had to reconsider. The dynamic room has improved a lot evenr compared to my previous ampli, that is well known to have a very good "power reserve". Talking about the Preamplifier, here I have found a new audio scene, richer and wider. The voices are the ones that takes most of the benefits. They have much more "structure", and they never overrides the rest of the audio scene. I am really satisfied!!

First off welcome to the forum.

I'm curious about the TU.LI.P preamplifier. It's been my experience that when a solid state device attempts to reproduce tube sound it's done by injecting or increasing even order harmonic distortion. IMO and my ear's opinion it doesn't work. If you want the bloom sweetness and depth of tube sound get a tube preamplifier. It will have a larger impact on the sound other than tubes everywhere especially used only as power amplifiers. Tube power amps with 100+ WPC ratings are also much more expensive than most SS and there are fewer available.

As for the totally unnecessary digs at the OP's English; some of you guys act like real jerks. I'd bet none of you smart asses can communicate at all in Italian

Uhhhhhh you are berating people from a 2 1/2 year old post? Good luck with getting a response.

I suppose I should have checked the dates. Even so there's no excuse for berating someone's English grammer skills when it's not their first language.

I was responding to a post made 10/18/2011. I didn't concern myself with the dates on earlier posts.
