oops the speakers are bozaks...i guess y'all are too thrilled but i thought id share anyway, being an audiophile too
I always say this, but someone else should chime in on speakers.
I believe that the general consensus here is that, because speaker technology has developed so much in the past few decades, speakers that old simply cannot compare to decent new speakers you can get for the same price. There may be exceptions, though, and I'm no expert. Good luck!
Welcome to the forum first off.
I'd also say it'd be hard for speakers to last that long (a lot of bits and materials to deteriorate over time) and even if made new today, it's likely newer designs and materials would supersede them. BUT--- we don't know exactly what you're thinking and why, so maybe some more back ground. And of course, it's all just general guidelines, rules are made to be broken, at least on occasion.
Hello alto77,
Looks like you have a nice system.
If it sounds good to you then it is good.
As already mentioned be careful when buying old speakers lots of things can be bad or failing.
They could easily end up being just boxes and not music makers.

thank you all for the heads up info... so far the old bozers have been quite impressive... a nice "round" accurate sound imo.....although i haven't really heard the latest in speaker tech....i do trust my musician ears and looking forward to hearing the older cabinets with the c20 and st70 driving them... maybe trade for my "80's" infinitys....
Great. If you have time, please get back to us with a review. We'd all be interested to hear it - especially if you can compare them to some modern speakers with which some of us might be familiar.
thank you judica and yes i will get back to y'all, the tech is having problems with the dynakit st70..we think the 7911 tubes need replacing...and a rectifier was updated...so the saga continues...stay "tuned" :-)
