First let me compliment the system that you've got you are considering. It's a very well matched system. Don't try to get by with JUST a Blu-ray player for CD's because the rest of the system would be a waste of money. Get a really good CD player (the Rega you mentions qualifies) and then a DVD or Blu-ray player for you movies and concert DVDs. Marantz makes some of the best sounding DVD players so I'd check them out if I were you.

Bryston has unbelievable built quality so the need for repair is extremely, extremely rare. Which is why they offer such a long warranty (20 years in the US/Canada, I'm not sure what it is elsewhere.)

Magnepan speakers are a bit more delicate. I'd advise buying new instead of used unless you can talk to the sell and can verify he understands how to ship/transport them properly. I'd also recommend listening to them before making the final decision. Buying ANY speaker before hearing it is maddness! Plus some people don't feel that they have enough bass, you'd want to make sure that you don't feel that way. Personally, I think the 3.6 are absolutely fantastic speakers and have very little serious competition in their price range.

It should also be noted that Magnepan and Bryston are a perfect match. Magnepan has been using Bryston amplifiers at trade shows for years.

Very nice gear selection. That's a system that I could live with. mrlowry is dead on in his suggestions and comments. Magneplanars can be less than stellar sounding right out of the box. They need as much as 40 hours of use before they come into their own. If you are a "headbanger" MG-3.6's may not have enough bass. If you need a sub, cross it over as low as possible. If you don't, well that's more money for CD's. Stand up and bowed bass sound really good on 3.6's.
