I went to [Wes Bender's]s apartment in Brooklyn....The black Hansen Princes looked just ravishing.

These are the same samples that Wes Phillips auditioned and I measured for the Stereophile review.

True, true. You're right, Buddha. DUP has single-handedly destroyed this section, I should've known better. Totally my oversight posting here.

DUP, perhaps Legacy speakers are all that & then some, but frankly, you're their worst marketing nightmare. I have zero desire to listen to them now after a lot of your non-sensical rambles about them, which frankly makes me wonder if you have any ears at all. If it weren't for AlexO's testimony, I swear I would have thought you had antennae instead of ears. A shame, really, b/c Legacy speakers may be wonderful. But seriously, you ruined that brand for me.

And another proof that you're a terrible judge of equipment, let alone music? The fact that you automatically assume that your Legacy sounds better than the Hansens, WITHOUT HEARING THE HANSENS! You can keep playing with your imaginary friends in your head, buddy. And I don't care if you like to play guessing game of Legacy vs. any equipment ever, with the Legacy coming out on top, dominating the world. But I swear, man, just stop making the "Rants & Raves" section into your own toxic sewer. This is not fair to a lot of people who want to talk about their genuine interests & opinions.

Hi, JA. Good to know that they are the same samples that you & Wes heard. I remember I voiced my skepticism re: Princes in a post elsewhere after reading your measurements, especially concerning how the Princes cross over from woofer to midrange at 100Hz. Did this low frequency crossover point manifest itself as an audible detriment as far as you recall? Very curious...

I'm also drooling over the idea of 150 watts of triode power. Nummy!

Since when did Innersound start making tube amps?

I believe they've been making them for a while. If I'm not mistaken, the amp that Wes was running was this one:

http://www.innersound.net/itubeover.html

Sounded really taut and powerful, definitely not tube-y.

Something very strange going on with that website. If you click on the "welcome" link it will take you to the home page, which then there is no way back to the site pages you link to? And there is no mention of tube amps from that page!

Also note that the home page states Innersound is now out of business since February 08! I didn't know that either! SD, how the heck did you ever find that page? I wouldn't mind having one of those babies driving my Logans!

Sorry for going OT.

RG

Hey, RG... I can only imagine what that Innersound amp could do for your Logans! Before Hansens, I think Wes was using the Innersound amp for his Innersound Kayas... Also, I think I vaguely remember Wes telling me that the amp was not on sale or something like that, maybe his was a prototype? I'll email Wes & find out for you, though, look for a PM some time.

I think Innersound is in kind of a transitional phase for sure. I'd love to hear the Kayas.

Since the summer of last year, as I learned by working the Buyer's Guide, Innersound has ceased production. You can see a note on their website.

Ya know, we really are now well into the era where speaker makers really "own" their enclosures.

Great time to be an audiophile.

In time, all of this will trickle down to the point where captive Chinese Crhristians in slave labor camps will be making this kind of quality speaker "priced for mortals," as someone here is fond of saying.
