Guide to Electronic Music

i've been trying to read up/learn about the millions of sub-genres in electronic music. my DJ/laser-harpist friend Kevin sent me this site. Very cool: all the info you ever needed to know plus tons of samples.

samples

haha

that wasn't really meant to be a joke
most electronic music isn't comprised of samples (just electronic instruments)

this site has already taught me so much, and i've barely scratched the surface of "House". The author is also pretty humorous and provides pretty justifiable opinions upon listening to his "samples".

Also--a fantastic history of electronic music is provided on the front page.

Musical Star Streams

One of the local radio stations has a program called Musical Star Streams that comes on late in the evening on Sundays. It's mostly all electronic and eclectic from all over the world.

There's something about Sunday evenings and that show that just seems to fit perfectly as I really look forward to listening...and I'm not even a fan of electronic music generally.

What station is that? Don't know where you are in Texas but does the station reach the DFW area? Or perhaps they stream?

KNTU 88.1 programs it 12-1 AM

KNTU 88.1 programs it 12-1 AM Saturdays and 10-11 AM Sundays. I can take it Saturday but Sunday morning is a little early for the bong! :-)
