Going Analog

I'm going to use my OPPO 83SE as my all. Using the analog outputs and passing thru my Cary Cinema 6. The McCormack MAP-1 was recommended to me as it's an all analog pre-amp, but I'm wondering if it's really necessary, and I would appreciate any thoughts and comments on the switch. I'm really on the fence and I'd like to get a different perspective, perhaps from someone who has used the MAP-1.
One question I have is since the Cary came out after the MAP-1 would the pass through be any different due to technology??..I don't know..It's all really new to me, so again, thanks in advance for any comments.
