given Nakamichi CA-1/PA-1, need bookshelf speakers

so my friend gave me these dusty things out of his garage, hooked them up to a pair of $150 floorstanders, i'm already pretty impressed...

here's the issue, one of the floorstanders is screwy and I figure it will cost at least $100 to fix it...

I'm no audiophile, I listen to music in my jeep with the top down and I'm fine...I just want the best bang for the buck at the price I'm willing to pay

Budget: $300 (strict) shipped.

Sound I'm looking for: room-filling (medium apartment), deep sound-stage speakers with a bit of treble roll off and good bass

Paradigm or JM Lab Chorus.

And I have some nice filled steel stands, 75.00, you'll need them.

floorstanding and tower

floorstanding and tower speakers are fine too, if i can get a bit more "fill" in the room, i'm willing ot sacrifice a bit of quality

aren't those pioneer towers 6 ohms? will they work?

The PA-1 is stable into 4 Ohms.

No problems with a 6 Ohm load.
