I have not heard the B&W or Totem speakers, but would strongly suggest that you audition Dynaudio Excite X12's -Had mine for a week, and after app. 90 hours burn in- sound unbelievable- producing a sound much, much bigger than the size of their cabinets would suggest..
That's a good line-up. Good brands/good sounds/good dealer/good reasons. Go for it. See if you can have a relaxed listening session or two to decide among the speakers. Take a range of music types (but all things that you like) to give them a workout. On CD's or good quality digital files (no 128kps).
Guys,
Thanks for the comments. I picked up the Rotel integrated yesterday and took home the CM5s and the Rainmakers to see what sounds better in my real life environment. Rainmakers have great mid to highs. Sounds much more 3D if that makes sense. By contrast, the B&Ws are a little flat. However, bass performance is much better on the B&Ws. Decisions decisions.
