Hello Chet, I would recommend Transparent Music Link rca interconnects retailing for $200 for a 1 meter pair. So you will need two pairs of these for the total of $400. One to connect from cd player to the preamp and another from the preamp to the power amp. As for speaker cables you can get Transparent Music Wave which retails for around the same price for 10 foot pair. Or alternatively, I would look for the used ones at Audiogon for about the same price you could get higher quality and better performance cables. You can also get Nordost or MIT or Kimber Kable or Chord Cable or Audioquest to name a few.
I have had good luck over the years with Audioquest interconnect cables. The Diamondback and Chicago interconnects are good. Audio Advisor carries them.
For speakers, I suggest that you use the Monoprice #12 pure copper speaker wire (Monoprice #2789- 100 feet of #12 pure copper speaker wire for $30).
I have $7000 speakers and have tried various high-priced speaker cables and none of them sound any better in my $20K system than plain old #10 or #12 pure copper wire.
I suggest terminating your speaker wires with soldered Audioquest gold-plated spade lugs. partsconnexion.com stocks them.
Chet-
whichever way (brand) you go, get an in-home audition prior to any purchase.
Otherwise, AudioQuest and Transparent is an excellent place to start.
