Hi JM,
There is some overlapping circuitry such as two volume controls, so sonics will suffer a little. The integrated amplifier only needs approx .6 volt signal but the preamplifier can be set to 0 db gain, and with two volume controls, you should not have any problems with a "super sensitive volume control" with limited range before overload.
It is always good to minimize the number of correctly designed stages, but this might work with a little loss in sonic quality. I would suggest a trial period in your own home if possible.
Hope this helps JM.
Thanks...
And what would you use to amplify this m902? 80~150 Watts...?
I am building a Hi-Fi workstation around my MacPro, and the only component I already have its the m902. It's very hard for me to audition anything, because I live in Venezuela, anything must be ordered from US, and retuning its very expensive. Also there is no stores to audition anything at all, so my decisions are always driven by reviews...
What are the speakers and room size?
Room size its around 15 x 15 ft, but not very good acoustics, somewhat glass, and not much freedom for placing speakers. At least I can place them 9 ft apart, at 120 degrees triangle...
