Energy C-6 Question

I have a pair of Energy C-6 Connoisseurs that I picked up for $100. I think this was a pretty good purchase, since they blow my Kef Q-50's out of the water. But my cat destroyed the tweeter in one of them, since they have no grilles. Is it worth replacing? If so, can someone recommend a good replacement? I'd obviously be replacing both tweeters. Maybe these speakers suck, and I should just save for something better. If that's the case, my price range would be around $300-500 Any help would be appreciated.

Re: Energy C-6 Question

I just found the "rest" of this forum, having scrolled through the miles of Steroephile Issue X Categories. Please feel free to move this thread to the appropriate category.

Cheers!

Re: Energy C-6 Question

I had to find a pair to look at, to see what you were talking about.

The speaker is worth fixing. Call up Energy in Canada, get a new tweeter. They'll tell you how to install it. It is a decent speaker, definitely worth fixing rather than replacing.

And that's a mighty big cat.

IIRC, that was a $900 US a pair (or thereabouts) speaker, when it came out. Mid 90's?
