What I mean is that I want to know if someone has replied to a topic that I have posted to. I never get an e-mail notification about that. For example, I never got an e-mail notifying me that you replied to this topic. I have all the options checked (it seems) to do so, but I only get notifications if I receive a private message.

I've had trouble with this also, Alex. The way I've gotten it to work is by selected a topic as a "favorite". You do this by clicking "Favorite Topic!" in the "Extra Information" box at the bottom left hand of the thread. Then, within your Preferences, check the option for receiving e-mail notifications of replies to your favorites.

Edit: By the way, it works so well, I actually just got an e-mail from myself letting me know that I responded. Seriously.
Is there a limit on the number of favorite topics you can have or do you have to delete them as you go along?
Sorry, Alex -- I'm not sure. Currently, I have selected four favorite topics without having to delete as I go.

I got the topics added as favorite topics and I get the mail notifications, but it doesn't quite work the way I would like. Instead of getting a single notification no matter how many people reply, I get a notification for each reply. It's a bit unwieldy and it's going to get more so as the forums grow.
