It should probably work as regular CDs have neither dts nor AC3 encoding.
You should be all set as long as it is stereo signal going to the NAD, which CD audio formats are.
I had a similar scenario when I was using my Rotel RA-12 with my TV/Entertainment system. I set my Blu Ray player and PS4 to PCM and they worked great. But when I was watching broadcast TV with my HD Antenna it was coming in as 5.1 Dolby Digital, which the Rotel couldn't process. Unfortunately my Sony TV tuner didn't have an setting to change it to stereo PCM.
