Do you like to read reviews of really expensive equipment in Stereophile?

A common complaint about Stereophile is that we review too much expensive equipment that our readers could never afford. Does this bother you, or should we continue to pursue state-of-the-art sound, without regard to cost?

It's nice to know how much better really expensive equipment sounds like in order to make a correct comparison with lesser expensive gear as a sort of parameter to better place in a correct dimension the sound quality of equipment of lesser cost. i don't have the money to purchase a mercedes Benz S320 in Costa Rica( it costs $120,000.oo) yet I love to read about the state of the art in automobiles for the sake of the enjoyment i get of knowing just how much it can be technologically advanced in automotive creation, however i don't intend on buying one of these expensive mercedes or Porsche since I am a practical person and i am absolutely happy with just owning a mercees E240 wich is more affordable. In conclusion I believe it is healthy to review really expensive equipment.

Stereophile must review state-of-the-art equipment to provide a reference point for the other more affordable equipment you review.

Once an item gets over $10k, very few of us can ever hope to purchase one. Ideally, I would like to see the majority of the items reviewed to be under $6k for electronics and $10k for speakers.
