Do you have a favorite piece of audio gear ( that you own ).

Just wondered if other audiophiles/music lovers have equipment they favour .

Although I like all my gear , I'm kind of partial to my Revel Salon one speakers , second would be the Ayre KX-R preamp .

Absolutely

My Logitech|UE 4000 on-ear headphones -- the sound is not perfect but I have not experienced a headphone as comfortable and transportable in my time so far. i love these things. Dalethorn complains about the rolled off treble -- i will agree that it's rolled off but you can still hear the extreme highs 10-20khz when listening to test tones, and I'd volunteer that they are rolled of swiftly and gently, lending the sound to an appreciable quickness without being in anyway harsh.

oh, and my LP collection.

subs

I think my subwoofers.  Made my main system and my computer system complete.

My "full range" main speakers (Vandersteen) weren't really really full range until I added the sub.  My nice little audioengine speakers were perfect for desktop computer use but adding a sub completed the obvious lack of deep bass in them.

(main: Rythmik F12SE.  computer: Earthquake SuperNova MKIV10)

I'm a cheap date.My Squeezebox Touch is by far my favorite piece of gear.

I'm too picky/peculiar about sound to ever be completely satisfied with the sound any amp or speaker for very long. If I could afford the Salons, I'd hate to think about becoming disenchanted with them!

I'm an equipment junky and I freely admit that change is inevitable. The exception has been the Touch.

Mt tube equipment

Lazarus Cascade Basic preamp and GTA SE-40 (Maintained and modified by myself and Jeff @ Soniccraft, who is amazing.  If your tube gear needs repaired or brought back to life, call him.).  Old and not so old single ended equipment is worth the effort.  If your music has no life, no there there, your doing to much pushin' and pullin'.  Go single ended.  I've had great stuff go in and out over the years, but these amps never stop making great music.

Cheap date

Price has nothing to do with it .

I simply love my new I-Pod , I have most of my CD collection on it , it sounds good hooked up to either of my rigs or in the car ( DAC/Dock helps ), it's great to take over to friends and listen to music on too .

It's cheap and gets used a lot , most of my audio buds want to get one .
