Do you buy used CDs?

Some folks have to hear the sound of the plastic wrap snapping off every time they get a new disc, while others just want to save some dough. Do used CDs find their way into your collection?

Probably half the time. Part of the fun is finding what you are looking for (even if you do not know it) in the used CD area.

Remember, perfect sound forever, indestructable, sounds the same no matter what, of course I buy used. But still doesn't mean I believe this crock.

Can be a great way to check out a new artist or obscure composer that may be of interest

I've been buying used CDs for years. Tough to beat discount prices coupled with wide selection make used CD shops tops on my list.

Why not. For under half the price of a new one you get same as new (if there are no scratches). Ad a new jewel case and it

I sometimes make great finds in the discounted bins of my favourite music store, I always buy new jewel boxes and put the discs in a repair kit I have and they are as good as knew, all for $5 - $6.00

Oh yeah, I'm always looking and used prices balance the premium prices I pay for some audiophile labels. Another plus - no shrinkwrap!

As long as they're clean, why not?

Used CD's are great value, and you can tell if they are in good condition by having a good look at them before you buy! Best of all you will get 3 or 4 for the price of 1 full price CD.

Why not? With the price to produce a CD at less the $1 and the royalties to the artists also miniscule who am I really suppoorting by paying those high prices?

Why not? Lower price and absent any scratches, sound quality doesn't change.

Buying a used CD accomplishes two things: one, it adds to my music collection and two, it gives me one more feedback at eBay. There's no wider selection anywhere else!

I will buy used cd's if they are out of print and hard to get, other than that, no. I find that often the cd's I buy used are scratched or dirty, have broken cases, etc. I also find the used price on cd's to only be slightly less than new, and if its out of print, then its price is often much higher than the New price.

Why on earth pay retail price when you can get the same audio benefits going through an used CD seller? Just think how it costs you to make ONE digital copy of one of your favorite CD's...25 cents maybe? Now think of all the copies you buy (of course furnished with nice stickers and sutff)at your local tower records store? you end up paying almost $20.00 for it! I think the music industry is having a fot because we have found out what a rip-off they are subjecting us to!

Many of my recent cd purchases are used. At 50% of the new price, I'm in. New cds are extremely over priced.
