Hmmmm....

Cerwin Vega CLS-215 review at Soundstage! (Exclamation point theirs.)

REG digs 'em, too.

Could they take down the mighty YG Acoustics Anat Reference II????

Certainly looks intriguing, but despite the low distortion, the anechoic measured response at http://www.soundstagenetwork.com/measurements/speakers/cerwin_vega_cls-215/ indicates an exaggerated low end and some resonance problems in the upper bass. Doesn't means that they sound bad, but they might well have a tailored sonic signature.

As a teen, I found Cerwin-Vega to be most efficacious with Iron Madien, Def Leppard, Judas Priest, The Who, Led Zepplin, Pink Floyd, AC/DC, and, of course... Black Sabbath.

Satisfying results could be regularly achieved when combined with copious amounts of alcohol and home rolled extra curricular cigarettes.

Stacked BIC Formula 6's! Just about the worst sound I've heard that anyone was asking money for. Makes you long for a Peavy name tag.

Despite their high sensitivity that can't be an easy load for most amplifiers and certainly not for the average receiver these might be paired with or the SET's mentioned in the review.

Is there a reason speaker designers don't talk to amplifier designers?

We were looking for some new monitors for our choir at church and I auditioned the CV, Yamama, Yorkville, and the JBL JRX series. The JBL's smoked every thing even though the salesman kept pushing the Yamahas.

I finally had to tell him to stop, shut up, and listen. Once he did he realized I was right by a wide margin.

They are not the speakers for audiophiles, but for their purpose they are excellent for under $300 a piece. Their matching 2-15" woofer models were also the best.

Our ears can always decide. Be wary of models salemen push. Maybe time to close something out.

I'm sure for some with MP3's the CV's might be magic? who knows.

I wouldn't want to see the inside of an iPod dock after a night of driving the CV's.

Pioneer was at least a driver company and their TAD stuff is mighty good.

JBL's current horn-loaded domestic speakers, trickled down from the Everest project, are extraordinarily good in traditional hi-fi terms. Who'd 've thunk it!
