You really know how to make all of us feel so bad for playing any instrument so poorly. What a great video. Thanks for sharing.

It would be interesting, if we could offer him or ourselves the chance - what would it be worth giving up in order to gain such ability?

I mean this purely as a 'what balance would you strike' question, no politics or religion or anything.

Me...

I'd give my left nut! (it's the one I wore out, anyway.)

Amazing that humans can make such sounds, isn't it?

It is clear that there is alot to be said for doing something poorly because we "over think" while we are trying to succeed. I do know that when i do play the piano "poorly" I am not consciencely thinking about every key I depress, but this video really says a lot about how the mind has to function to perform amazing feats of excellent musicianship.

Hitting a baseball at 90mph IS a case in point...the more you think about it the harder it is to do it. There you just need to react to what you see. no guessing or anticipating, just move to what you see, and in this this pianist's case, to what you feel.

I would love to read the take by RR or Robtert Silverman on this subject.

Amazing stuff.
