I've been thinking about getting a dac was wondering if its worth getting one and opinions on which dac is the best, I listen to most of my music from my laptop (all flac files) connected to my stereo connected from the headphone jack. The headphone jack probably isn't the best connection. So any thoughts, help, or opinions are greatly appreciated.
should sound much better than from a laptop headphone jack. How about price range and what kinds of digital output does your laptop have?
Don't really have a price range whichever one is a decent bang for your buck I'll set money aside for, as for my laptop it doesn't have anything besides the headphone jack and hdmi so I was thinking one with a usb. I had two in mind either the cambridge dac magic or the emotiva xda unless someone suggests something else that would be better
Can't accept that upsampling stuff.

I was looking for a DAC to connect to an Airport Express and couldn't resist the sub-$300 price on the Music Hall DAC15.2. I haven't connected it via USB yet, but it does a very nice job connected to the AE.
is getting a lot of positive buzz right now.
