Speaking of color.
There was once a speaker line introduced by, I think it was Wharfedale, that was run through its paces with different color decorative finishes.
They were otherwise identical, but they had people audition them as though they were different speakers.
I forget what color did what, but the yellow ones were perceived as being "brighter," the red ones were more of something else, etc...
I tried finding it on the net just now but couldn't.
Very interesting results.
Now, if we are to believe other people when they say they hear these differences, where does that come from?
Is it real, or is it illusory?
Anybody remember when or which Hi FI journal covered this?
do RED cables sound better than Blue cables. there was/is some nudnick on audio ASSYLUM that claims that the dye in the plastic he hears, and he can hear PTFE versus PVC wire insulation. does he also SEE teh differences if he uses the cables in video? PVC versus PTFE, different colored wire changes what he sees? OH, only what he hears!!! AND he claims to work foor a brand name maker of stuff for guitars, highly doubtful......of any of it.
Well said, Natal.
So now audio equipment reaches a higher level of meta physical? Just how does YOUR system FEEL to YOU. Well it brings me back to childhood...my parents brow beating me into submission....it invokes memories of fleeing once I was of age. Do you hear the same thing in your pre amp? No? you must have the WRONG wire. When I ee an electroPhonic stereo, it brings back the haunting, of idiots trying to tell me, THIS is high fidelity, as was done in my yute.
