I miss Clifton's boozy don't-have-to-count-my-money insouciance. I miss the gentleman Elk- the world needs more like him. I have a feeling they are taking a holiday break from the sometimes droning contentiousness of the audiophile battleground.

you know, in this country fully automatic word-assault rifles are banned (wink-wink), so you can only have semi-automatics legally. looks like those guys filed down the firing pins on their semi-auto word assault rifles and are now spewing words at the rate of 300 per minute. someone should report them to the proper authorities. silly me, i forgot, the authorities already know.

Now, flushed with the success of "Goza Me! Pero Ya..." and Bach (Hey! it IS Christmas...), I return to Celibidache and the Schubert 9th -- slooooowww dancin' and I'm just tanked enough to be patient...I believe it was Mahler (the conductor) who said, "when your audience starts to lose interest, go slower, not faster..." Or some such shit. I think Celibidache took him too literally, but I got a cabinet fulla booze and all night...

Buddha, when the outer layer of your cochlea starts to peel from the bad mix, don't let it work through down into your entrails. If it is THAT bad, get it out of the slot immediately, and put somethin' soothing on...

Delicate sensibilities have to be protected from bad mixes...
