I agree. I wouldn't mind seeing it ONCE, but it's easy enough to store a cookie (for those whose browsers accept them) to stop it from appearing after that. When people have brought this up before, the response from Stereophile editorial staff has been that it's out of their control. Maybe, and boy that's sad....

Out of their control? Then why are Stereophile paying the fools who inflict this upon us?

What popup ?

Oh yea, I turn on my popup blocker on safari so I guess I haven't seen it.

That seems to work better than compaining

I don't know why but my 'pop up blocker' works only some of the time on Stereophile's home page but appears to always work on the forum.
Go figure.

The pop-up is a corporate decision, rather than a Stereophile editorial decision. It's something Source Interlink's subscriptions and marketing people are using on many of the brands' sites, not just stereophile.com. And while we have opposed it -- some of us vehemently, tirelessly -- the numbers show that the pop-ups have been very successful with gaining new subscribers. There's little we can do, then, to get rid of it.

We appreciate your concern, however, and several of us agree that the pop-up is annoying. I wonder, though: Is the pop-up very different from those blow-in cards found in every issue you buy? Is it any more annoying or any more difficult to ignore?

The simple solution is subscribe ... I have never noticed blow-in cards in any of my subscription issues.
