What stores are you shopping at? That looks pretty BigBox to me.
Shopping/buying mostly online.
Hoping to test hear some polk and sony's at my local bestbuy.
I would check out the Monitor Audio RS6. Very good sound for not much money and since the model has been updated you should find it at a good price.
PSB Image B25s for $320/pair online. May even be able to get them cheaper as they are on the verge of closeout being replaced by the PSB Image B6.

I'd also consider a Harman Kardon HK-3390 or HK 3490 as a better choice for a budget two-channel music listening system. The HK3390 is $214 online.
