I get that same feeling in certain threads posted through out here myself
But yeah there's no way in hell anyone can hit a note that low unless you're Satan

If you want to produce a fairly pure 0.5Hz tone, blow in then suck out twice a second. You won't hear anything, however, as there is almost no energy at harmonics that fall within the range deemed to be audible. :-)

I might be missing something but wouldn't that produce a fairly pure 2 Hz tone? Apologies in advance for being picky.

Aah, you are correct Geoff. Thanks.

More like a sawtooth with smoothed transitions.

I listened to a recording of Roger Menees. While yes, you can hear the individual flaps of his vocal chord at this very low frequency, it isn't really a voiced note as there is virtually no energy present at the fundamental frequency.

So, what should the definition of singing a note be? To be considered a note, would the fundamental frequency need to be the dominant one? If I do 5 glotal stops on the same breath every 5 seconds, couldn't I win this prize by the definitions they are using? Singing a note is much more that a measure of vocal fold flaps per minute. There must be a good definition of what defines a pitched note that would debunk this attempt at the record. I just don't think this qualifies as singing.

If not producing any energy at the fundamental is OK, I can do DC for short intervals. ;-)

Oo, Kal! Let's do some DC duets! People will love to "hear" that.

For the training session I have uploaded a special training video made by some highly intelligent people at (former) PullMyFinger.com. Sadly they're now out of business, just as I was saving money for their Gold Edition triple CD.

Best bass ever

I was fortunate enough to Take the Bass position for a while in the Stamps once JD passed away.

I aint too shabby myself, *easily* have an A#1 (full voice), and can vocalize even lower. I agree with JA... those guys are doing what we basses call "vocal fry". No energy-no note

Tim Storms record was bunk too.

Tim Riley is amazing too.

and Roger Menees is garbage.

what a joke!
