The OPPO vs Lexicon IS a case of audio cynicism, not unlike that expressed by many here. Many of YOU in the same situation, would just tart up a pretty girl and sell her at the price of a princess, just like Lexicon did.
However, REAL evolution in audio is expressed by the OPPO and even several other audio manufacturers for both FM reproduction and Digital playback.
Class D modulated power amps are also another interesting area of improvement.
However, internal refinement is still a little rough around the edges, and it could be made even better by SERIOUS hi end designers. Yes, we exist, and this is what we do all day.

If anything can be gleaned from these forum threads, it's that most members express a scrupulous value system diametrically opposite of your remark. But one crass statement doesn't devalue the body of your contribution to the audio landscape. Your engineering talent speaks for itself.

That's one of Kris' lyrics which probably deserves some care in interpretation. Kris, like Bill Clinton, was a Rhodes scholar, and you know how slippery those guys are with definitions of terms.

It depends on what your definitions of "are" are.
