Stereophile reviewer Bob Reina's new jazz quartet, Attention Screen -- Bob on piano, Chris Jones on fretless bass, Mark Flynn on drums, Don Fiorino on guitar, lotar, and lap steel -- played an extraordinary set of free improvisations last Sunday in the rather cramped performing space at Jimmy's 43 in the East Village. I will be recording the band live at Manhattan's Merkin Hall in February for a Stereophile CD.
