The misuse of a musical instrument is what I hate. If the sound is appropriate, what instrument could be hated?

Accordian

There's nothing I truly "hate," but a lot of sounds that come out of synthesizers and midi instruments are unfortunate, to put it gently. And in some but not all musical settings, I really don't care for the flute or soprano saxophone.

Madonna . . . voice is considered an instrument and she . . . well let's just say I can't stand her.

It's a tie between Eb (alto) clarinet and the piccolo. Gosh, I HATE it when wind symphonys (bands) or orchestras play pieces with them in the music. The only exception is Sousa's Stars and Stripes march. I do like the pic. solo in there.

Turntables that are used to make "scratching" noises. Gives me the hebie-jeebies.

I love all sounds

Funk Piano. It sounds like someone is drowning a normal piano.

Bagpipes -- totally obnoxious

synthesized Music in the rap form. It is simply a computor with bad poetry(and I use the term poetry lightly) with no talent in terms of musicallity.

Flute: the most irritating instrument!!!

The banjo has the same bad qualities as some digital sound: ringing and bright. I have enjoyed many Pete Seeger concerts though.

The RECORDER runs back and forth across my teeth like a buzzsaw! I rue the day that I allowed my kids to practice their RECORDERS at home.

While it can be played wonderfully (E Clapton for example) I think the electric guitar makes some of the worst sounds imaginable, the synthesizer as well

Clarinet. An outstanding Clarinet player sounds . . . tolerable. Anything else invokes sheer pain.

It's not so much the instrument but the (unskilled/ apathetic) player that kills things for me. I've heard some very beautiful instruments played atrociously and some usually annoying ones played very attractively.

Several -- kazoo, tin whistle, and sometimes piccolo hurts my ears in the upper register

Scottish bagpipes!!! And I`m British with a hefty dose of Scots ancestry. Simply the most abominable sound known to man: my cats sing more tunefully!

Every instrument has its own beauty and suitable for certain aspect or mood.
