Obviously I was having a senior moment, Jeff. But if it's worth recommending once, it's worth doing so again!

Fabulous!
Just awesome.
I wish I could do that.
LOL - It's definitely a fun vid and well worth sharing. It wasn't my intention to cause any embarrassment -- I recalled Wes linking to the vid and just think the comments in the blog entry are interesting and demonstrate how context changes things (like when you see the checkout girl from the supermarket on the subway and can't place where you know her until much later.) I think it's valuable to see Ethan in a playful, musical light, because his DBT posts seem anything but.
Thanks very much guys!
BTW, I'm now working on my next performance video. There will be some cello, but mostly it's electric guitars and bass and synths and drums, etc. This will be a much more ambitious project, and I'm aiming to have about 30 of me on the stage by the end!

Much more ambitious? Geez louise. You're taking ambition to new levels.
Have you played in bands or other sorts of collaborations, Ethan? Or is all of your work "solo"?
Stephen,

ROFL. I spent hundreds of hours on my cello video between writing the music, practicing all the parts, recording them, then shooting and editing the video itself. I'm very nearly done writing the music for this second video, but much still remains to do. With luck I'll be done the first month or two in 2007. The first one was done entirely in my home studio, and you can see the green screen setup at the end. But for this next one I'll have to shoot some of the parts "on location" because I don't own a grand piano or Hammond organ or timpani drums etc.

I played in pop bands for many years, and I used to own a professional recording studio and we had our own production company. So I was a studio musician back then too. But that was in the early 1980s. I still jam with friends occasionally. Everyone that works for RealTraps is a musician, so we all get together a few times a year for fun. More recently I've played regularly in three different local orchestras, and a wedding quartet and other smaller classical groups. So I can play well with others, regardless of how it may appear from my technical posts!

That's awesome. I'm trying to get Primedia to spring for a drum set here in our office. We'll have Lizzzeee on the mic, JA on fuzz bass, me on the V, and fly in Jon Iverson to bang the cans.
Good luck with the new video. It must be a lot of fun, and a lot of hard work, to create something like that. I'm looking forward to checking it out.

If you do that let me know and I'd love to come by with my Tele and Fender amp.

Thanks. Me too.
