I played around with plugging my portable record player and cassette recorder into a big Grundig tabletop radio, trying to figure out how to get better sound. That was circa 1970. Then I subscribed to Stereophile and checked Gordon Holt's Recommended Components. One of the first I bought was the Class B "Beyer DT-48S headphone with round cushions". Yikes!! This was audiophile? Oh no, I thought, this can't be. But I had patience. It was either this or Stereo Review. So after a few more purchases I finally figured it out.
