Made of genuine fresh leek leaves, collected on full moon night at midnight precisely by certified (I tested them) virgins. Principle of operation is vitamin C injection into cable insulation.

So, let's get real:
1. How do they do it, i.e. how do they absorb the self induced magnetic field bla-bla-bla?
2. What about shielded cables? If no EMF goes through the shield what can your thingies absorb?
3. How would this absortion reduce noise and distortion in the system?

Let's get Real? Are you drunk? EMF is not the same thing as the magnetic field, not even close. As fate would have it the magnetic field is not stopped or absorbed by the shield which is put there to keep RFI out. If you have any of your moldy old signal processing text books lying around you might want to consider digging them out and looking up the Right Hand Rule for how a magnetic field is generated in cables.

And sorry, you can't have one without another (Al Bundy).
As for shielding, it shields both ways: just measure if you don't believe.
So the ball is still in your court, and I'm still waiting for answers. If you have them, of course, since I see you got into your old mantra of ridicule, ridicule etc. (looks like debunkery methods work both ways, no wonder you took the time to study them).

EMF is the signal traveling down the wire.

Magnetic field, in Gauss, the induced magnetic field produced by current flowing down wire. See Right Hand Rule. Magnetic field is not EMF or RFI.

RFI - Radio Frequency Interference, external electromagnetic fields that can interfere with the signal traveling down the wire if wire is unshieled.

Shielding - protects the signal in the wire from external RFI. Shielding does not absorb, only shield. So shielding is of no help for anything objectionable in the wire, I.e. Magnetic field or RFI.

So the shield protects the wire from external EMF but does not shield the outer world from EMF generated by the wires? Such a joke!

Each wire has a self-induced current and is also subject to the current induced by the other wire. Now let's suppose the wires are not individually shielded (which they are, in most high performance cables), how can your external "thingie" absorb only the mutually induced magnetic field but not the self-induced one?

Still waiting for a clear answer... If you have one, obviously!

My thingie absorbs all magnetic fields anywhere in the vicinity. No matter how ridiculous you wish to make the situation appear. Is that clear enough for you? Shall I draw you a picture?

Your thingie absorbs anything, just like a Pampers.
Does it need to be replaced o a regular basis (or the absorbed magnetic field will start stinking) or is it washable?

I don't care if you have magnetic monkeys flying out of your butt, I will not allow ANY magnetic fields to interfere with the precious signal.

May I suppose you don't have a WiFi network, or that it works like shit?
Too bad one of my remotes uses RF, I won't be able to test your thingie in my system.

P.S. Guess what, there are plenty of magnetic fields all around you, starting with the (weak) signals from the FM radio station, going through all the cellular antennas in your neighborhood and even the (non-shielded) motor of your washer... So short of closing your system in a Faraday cage, no can do!

The weak signals from radio stations are not magnetic fields. Hel-loo! Neither are cellular signals. And a Faraday cage keeps out electric fields, not magnetic fields. Geez, this is going nowhere fast. And I'm getting pretty damn tired of typing Hel-loo! So let me ask, have you given any consideration to calling for backup?

If someone tells me a thing is almost impossible I interpret that to mean it is actually possible.
