It cannot nor can any off-the-shelf player.   HDMI only.

An interesting fact:

After being out of production for two years or more, Sony now has the 5400 for sale again on their website; still $1500.

Of course the OPPO BDP-105 sounds even better, for $1200, but some Sony fans might want one.

I have my 5400 for sale for $800, and it is like new. Any takers?

The 752BD only outputs LPCM via HDMI. Why is that?

It notes it can output DSD via its HDMI but few DACS have HDMI.

DSD is not a format that can be processed by a "DAC".

Its bitstream format requires an entirely different type of processing circuitry than an ordinary "DAC' is designed for.

Also, the fact that ir can be transmitted by HDMI does not mean that it can be received and used by just any HDMI device. Only a few devices that have HDMI can process DSD bistream data.

Dunno but it may depend on what it is connected to. What are you using? Will it accept DSD?

It can be processed by a(ny) DAC that is designed to accept it. The possible connection formats include HDMI, USB, USB(DoP) and S/PDIF(DoP).
