That will just get you what you need, other than stands for your speakers.
Awesome, thanks for the links. I'm really considering purchasing the phono stage above because I've read nothing but good reviews. What are would be some other good options for speakers and integrated amps?
Also, i have a 2.1 soundbar and sub that I use with my TV that also has an RCA input. Would the level be loud enough to go straight from the phono stage to the soundbar without the need for an integrated amp at this time? I know the sound will be nothing compared to a separate amp and speakers, but then once I upgrade I'd really be able to hear and appreciate the difference in sound quality.
Sorry if I'm asking dumb questions, I'm just trying to wrap my head around all this new information and hoping y'all can help me process it a little easier lol
The Music Hall 15.3 integrated amplifier is an outstanding one that is only $550 from Audio Advisor and others.
That would be my first choice. It includes a good phono preamp, so that would save the expense of buying one separately.
The improvement over the soundbar will be huge; a soundbar is really not a very good way to go.
For speakers, I suggest a pair of Wharfedale Diamond 10.1 speakers. Sterephile reviewed them; you can read that here in the "Reviews" section above. They are $350 from Music Direct.
Another good set of speakers would be the Cambridge Audio SX-50 speakers, which are only $250 per pair.
