The Musical Fidelity is an excellent amplifier, but for only $1500, you can get the Vincent SP-331 power amplifier. It is a steal at that price.
I think it sounds as least as good; perhaps a bit better, and has a ton of power.
The Absolute Sound picked it as their Ampifier of the Year a couple of years ago.
Another excellent one is the Bryston 3B-SST2, but it is $4200.
To my ears the Parasound A21 is not quite as good; you would have to go to the JC1 monoblocks to get comparable sound quality.
